In December 2000 I received my Masters Degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling from California State University, Sacramento. I spent eight years working at Valley Community Counseling Services as a Registered Marriage Family Therapist Intern and School Counselor. During this time I treated clients in both clinical and school settings providing individual, family and group counseling on a variety of mental health issues to include depression, anxiety, marital issues, domestic violence and issues related to addiction. I provided family reunification counseling and skills training for families involved with Child Protective Services and foster care. I worked extensively with adults in difficult and sometimes emotionally and/or physically abusive relationships. In addition, I facilitated adult, male and female anger management groups.
While providing school and child counseling I facilitated anger management, grief and life skills groups to youth and adolescents. Over the past 13 years I have worked with children on an individual and group basis for issues related to divorce, grief, depression, anxiety, anger issues, self injurious behavior, drug use and issues of abuse . I have provided mental health counseling in schools at all levels. I have provided mental health counseling at Howe Avenue Elementary, Clover Middle School, New Jerusalem Charter School, Jane Frederick Continuation School and most recently at Inderkum High School in Sacramento. I am experienced at Play Therapy, Object Relations Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems and Couples Therapy. I am married with three wonderful daughters. I am a long time resident of Sacramento and born and raised in Stockton, California.
